Stay 🏡

My home has become very familiar as I’ve studied every crack and every fold on my room wall. I even spotted a black line I never knew existed; and oh… I realised that light comes in through my window at exactly 8.30am every day.

My mum has constantly ensured we have breakfast at 9.00 am every day and meals are always balanced with a glass of juice. Some days, I stay in the living room all day, sometimes I stay in my room or take a walk around the house.

While I’m getting carried away by the fact that I have what I need to survive this “holiday” it hits me that some people don’t have cracks to study, no black lines, no windows to peep through, no breakfast, no cups, no living rooms to stay in, no meals to eat. To them, this is a holiday they never wished for.

The cold eyes of hunger and sadness overwhelm them… you preach hope to them? it’s the right thing, but its going to be difficult to get them to embrace hope when life is literally sucked out of their nostrils daily…

Please, stay home, let’s put an end to this and move on with our lives. This too shall pass.
